How We’re Different

The Tahoe Housing Hub occupies a distinct niche within the housing landscape of the Tahoe region, setting us apart from other nonprofit and government agencies with a focus that intertwines advocacy and direct action in housing creation.

As a 501(c)(4) organization, our unique position allows us to engage deeply in advocacy efforts for housing policies while also being directly involved in the development of housing projects, particularly those of small to mid-scale.

Unlike the Truckee Tahoe Workforce Housing Agency (TTWHA), which concentrates on workforce assistance and partnerships for housing on partner agency land, and the Mountain Housing Council (MHC), known for its role in convening partners, state advocacy, and funding support the Tahoe Housing Hub emphasizes hands-on assistance in housing creation, including ADU planning and construction, and actively advocates at both local and regional levels.

Our approach ensures that we complement, without overlapping, the services provided by TTWHA and MHC. This strategic positioning allows us to contribute effectively to creating a more inclusive and accessible housing environment in the North Lake Tahoe-Truckee region, demonstrating our commitment to innovative, sustainable solutions that meet the community’s diverse needs.
